Greg Ellis, 63, passed away peacefully February 13, 2018. Greg was born January 8, 1955 to Francis and Colleen Ellis in Pittsburg, KS. He thoroughly enjoyed his years living in Pittsburg, often sharing stories of all his adventures with neighborhood friends.
He was very proud to achieve Eagle Scout recognition. He and his family moved to Lawrence, KS, in 1969 where he graduated from Lawrence High School in 1973. Greg attended Pittsburg State and Rhema Bible Training Center. Through his education he became ordained. Greg met Lisa Harger at Mustardseed Christian Fellowship in Lawrence, KS, and they married July 30, 1994.
Greg is survived by his wife, Lisa, sons Austin (Haley) and Jeremiah as well as his daughter Lindsay. In addition, he is also survived by his parents, Francis and Colleen Ellis, sister, Glenda Souders (Leo) and niece Callee Holtzman (Jeff).
Greg was a talented carpenter and artist. He enjoyed making stained glass and had recently taken up quilting. He loved the Lord and was blessed to have traveled to Africa on two occasions for missions. However, most of all, he loved his family. He could not have been more proud of his children. He will be remembered because when he laughed his whole face danced.
The family invites you to a memorial service for Greg at 10AM on February 17, 2018 at Faith Family Life Center, 3710 NW Topeka Blvd in Topeka.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Faith Family Life Center.
