Gregory J. Schneider, was born January 7, 1949, in Denver, CO, the son of Lester L. and Joan (Rhoden) Schneider. He departed life in Topeka on November 9, 2009.
Before moving to Topeka in 1970, Greg had completed Butler County Community College, later graduating from Kaw Area Vo-Tech. Greg was baptized and a born again Christian, studying the Bible throughout his life. He was employed by the State of Kansas for many years. Greg was a very talented self-taught artist having won awards and with many artworks displayed locally, nationally, and internationally, much of which he donated for others to enjoy. He had a natural musical ear for performing, as well as, designing and constructing some musical instruments. He enjoyed as a hobby, horticulture. Greg loved animals, with his Maine Coon cat, "Mr. Buddy" being his companion.
He was preceded in death in 2003 by his father. He was loved and will be missed by his mother, Joan; brother Kent (wife Pamela), of Topeka; nephews, Jeremy (wife Colleen) Schneider of Denver, CO and Jared Schneider of Overland Park, KS.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Rd., Topeka, KS 66617.
