Harold M. Burkdoll, 92, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital.
He was born on November 18, 1920 in Lyndon, Kansas to Benjamin H. and Zella (Vaughn) Burkdoll.
He was an insurance agent with American Home Life and American United Life, as well as invested in real estate. He retired early and lived his life to the fullest. Harold was a member of the Arab Shrine Temple (Kansas Ave) and Optimist Club (Downtown) where he was past president.
On September 20, 1946, he married Arlene Plaschka in Ottawa, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Jan Montague, Leawood, KS and Marcia Streich, Montrose, CO; two grandchildren, Mindy (Rob) and Tyler, one great granddaughter, Willa and one sister, Erma Houchins, Topeka.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will take place in the Lyndon Cemetery.
