Harold Lowry, 91, of Auburn passed away on February 25, 2018. Born April 20, 1926 in rural Auburn, he was the son of Cleon and Susanna Lowry.
He grew up near Auburn and graduated from Auburn High School.
Harold married Phyllis Gifford on March 22, 1952.
He enjoyed playing sports and was a Golden Glove Boxer. He loved animals, working on the farm, fishing, hunting and camping, but most of all he love spending time with his family and friends. He didn't know a stranger.
Harold was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Rickel, a brother, James Lowry and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Lowry.
He is survived by his wife, five children; Allen (Joy) Lowry, Sue (Jim) Olliso, Millie Mark, Mike (Companion- Brenda) Lowry and Clara (Tim) Sowers, 13 grandchildren; Ali (Shawn) Schermerhorn, Kim (Brandon) Endicott, Jamie Olliso, Jeremie (Terri) Olliso, Janette (Kieyoani) Spencer, Luke (Monique) Mark, Ronnie (Mike) McPike, Mallory (David Ruse) Mark, James (Carolyn) Lowry, Jerry (Jessica) Lowry, Danialle Lowry, Thomas (Emily) Sowers, Valerie (Hananiah Owens) Sowers, 29 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law; Joan Lowry and Virginia Gifford, brother-in-law, George Rickel and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 at Dove Cremation and Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave. Topeka. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
