Harriett Elaine Burns

H. (Harriett) Elaine Burns passed away on June 18, 2017. She was born on February 9, 1927 in Spencer, Iowa to Harry and Bernice Dickinson, but has resided in Topeka since 1962. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Burns. She is survived by her daughter, Laurie (Tom) Cox of Colorado Springs, and her sons, Thomas (Angie) Taylor of Topeka and Andrew Taylor of Seattle, 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and her sister, Dorothy Wedge of Tucson.
Elaine was especially proud to serve as a volunteer with the Topeka Police Department for many years. She also enjoyed flying, golf and playing bridge.
A private family Celebration of Elaine's life will be held at Dove Cremation and Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Topeka Police Department in care of, FOP Foundation, 320 S Kansas Ave, Topeka, KS 66603.
