Harry E. "Ernie" Blow, Jr., 74, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020. He was born June 25, 1946 in Topeka, the son of Harry E. and Bernice V. (Moulin) Blow, Sr.
Ernie graduated from Topeka West High School in 1964 and earned a Master's Degree in Music Education from Kansas State University. He was employed as a music teacher for 34 years before retiring from Pauline Central Elementary School in 2003.
Ernie was very active in sports. He played softball for over 60 years, was an accomplished bowler, and was inducted into the Topeka West Sports Hall of Fame in 2001 for his athletic achievements in wrestling.
Ernie married Mary J. Hobbs on August 6, 1993 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include children, John (Glenda) Whitaker, Trish (Matthew) Whitaker-Stuber, five grandchildren, Alex, Whitney, Kailey, Daniel and Miranda, and one great-granddaughter, Evey who was the love of his life. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Private memorial services will be held at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. A public Celebration of Ernie's Life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Elara Caring Hospice, 901 NE River Rd., Topeka, Kansas 66616.
