Harry Edgar Boster, Jr., 82, of Berryton, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at his home. He was born on July 27, 1926 in Neodesha, KS, the son of Harry Edgar and Chloe Etta Berger Boster, Sr. He served his country in the Army Signal Corp during WWII in the South Pacific from 1944-1945. Harry was a stockman and farmer as well as working at Goodyear where he retired in 1985 after 31 years of service. Harry then graduated from Kaw Valley Vo-Tech and learned small engine repair. He was a good and faithful servant in his church, serving in a variety of offices and serving as a co-director of the seniors group "The Classics" for 26 years. He was a member of Philip-Billard Post No. 1650, V.F.W., served as past-president of the Berryton Kawinis Club and served as past union steward of Local Rubber Workers Union No. 307. Harry married Mildred M. Lyon on January 5, 1946 in Independence, KS. They were married for 62 years. She survives. Other survivors include their three children, Connie (Paul) Rasmussen, Anita (Larry) Rainey, Timothy E. (Kay) Boster, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Lakeview Church of the Nazarene where military honors will be presented by a burial detail from Fort Riley, KS. Private interment will take place in Farmington Cemetery in Wilson, Co., KS. Harry will lie in state after 1:00 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, 2835 S.E.
