Harvey Edwin Bradley, 82, transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Thursday, December 5, 2013. Harvey was born on March 14, 1931 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of the late Howard Cecil and Sadie (Redmond) Bradley. He attended Topeka High School and graduated in 1949.
Harvey joined the Calvary Baptist Church in 1949 as a young man. He sang in the Young People's Choir, Adult Choir, Men's Choir and Celestial Choir. Harvey served as the janitor at 3rd and Quincy, old Calvary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Laymen Department and Trustee Board. He was a loyal supporter of his church.
Harvey married Marie Frey on July 29, 1950. To this union four children were born, Harvena Marie, Howard Reginald, Scherry Lynette (deceased April 25, 1992) and Sharon Louise. They were later divorced.
Mr. Bradley was a custodian at Medical Art Building. He retired from Santa Fe Shop after 40 plus years of service. He loved pitching horse shoes, bowling and traveling. He was a member of the Ebonite Bowling League.
Harvey leaves to cherish his memory, his children: Harvenva Marie Johnson, Irving, Texas, Howard Reginald (Cynthia) Bradley, Topeka, Kansas, and Sharon Louise Cunningham, Fayetteville, North Carolina; grandchildren: Schnette Hollins, Sheralle Bradley, Howard Reginald Bradley, Charles Dilliehunt, Jr., Tiffarra Bradley, Mycal Zachariou, Camisa Cunningham, Sharynna Cunningham, and Andrew Johnson IV; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, devoted friends, loving church family, and Ardrua Gurden. Family was always first and very important to him.
Mr. Bradley was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
