Helen H. Bayless, 68, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital after a lengthy illness.
She was born January 9, 1939 in Bushong, Kansas the daughter of Herman and Virginia Martin. Helen attended High School in Burlingame, Kansas.
She retired from K Mart with more than 25 years of service.
Helen married Jerold O. Bayless March 10, 1958. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Jerry C. Bayless, Topeka; Greg Bayless, Lawrence; two daughters, Lynn Woodruff, Topeka, Sheryl Bayless, Berryton; her brother, Jim Martin, Osage City, four sisters, Margaret Henry, Columbus, OH; Nancy Kahn and Dorothy Cohagen both of Topeka, Blanche Lancaster, California; ten grandchildren, Dustin, Muriah, James, Matthew, Whitney, Sooner, Joshua, Jaden, Jordan and Gracia; four great grandchildren, Skylor, Allison, Damian and P.J., and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Rose Edgar and Alberta Herren and a great granddaughter Trinity Bayless.
Helen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at the Highland Park United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow at Auburn Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
