Helen Reed Hoppe Arnold, 83, of Auburn, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012.

She was born August 12, 1928 in Emporia, KS, the daughter of Everett and Jane (Collinge) Reed. She was employed by the University of Kansas in Lawrence and later for KNI in Topeka.

She was a member of the Auburn Presbyterian Church.

Helen married William Richard Hoppe on December 21, 1962 in Auburn. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1999. She married Lyman "Jim" Arnold on December 6, 2000 at Auburn. He survives of the home. Other survivors include a step-son, James Arnold, Wakarusa; a step-daughter, Lois Ann Coke, Tonganoxie, KS; 3 step-grandchildren, Dusty, Chelsea and Lance; three siblings, Mary Alice Gallager, Ozawkie, Elvin Reed, Topeka and Leila Schuenight, Topeka; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.

A funeral ceremony will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Auburn Presbyterian Church, 1101 Washington St., Auburn, KS 66402. Interment will follow at Auburn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Thursday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Auburn Presbyterian Church. Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel is assisting the family.
