Helen Irene Potter, 91, Auburn, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at a Topeka hospital.
Helen was born January 2, 1919 in Youngstown, OH, the daughter of R.J. and Minnie (Stephens) Weaver. She graduated from Wichita North High School and attended Wichita Business College.
Helen married Rev. Rowan B. Potter on February 20, 1935 in Wichita. They lived in Arlington, KS, Malcom, IA, and Auburn, KS.
She was involved in numerous church activities with her husband's ministry and a longtime member of the Auburn Presbyterian Church.
Her husband preceded her in death on July 18, 1995. Survivors include sons, David (Pam) Potter, Staunton, VA, Daniel (Ruth) Potter, Auburn, James (Ardyce) Potter, Auburn; daughters, Donna (Cliff) Shiblom, Bartlesville, OK, Sharilyn (Robert) Morris, Cleburne, TX; nine grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold S. Weaver.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 30, 2010 at Auburn Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Auburn Cemetery. Helen will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel after 2:00 p.m. Thursday
