Helen Byrnes Kollar, 74, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015.
She was born June 27, 1941, in Binghamton, New York, the daughter of John and
Helen (Milowitz) Byrnes. In 1983, she earned her GED, an accomplishment that she was very proud of. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Michelle (Melvin) White, Topeka; siblings, Diana Rea, Thomas (Kathleen) Byrnes and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two siblings, John Byrnes and Barbara Darrow and her niece, Susan Byrnes-Weeks.
Helen enjoyed reading, puzzles and watching TV, especially her gangster movies.
She loved to read cookbooks and baking. Most of all she loved her family; she was always there for them.
Services will be held at a later date in Binghamton, NY where she will be laid to rest next to her first husband, Thomas Kollar.
