Helen R. Peek, 88, of Topeka, passed away October 23, 2015. She was born on September 21, 1927 to John C. and Helen L. McCoy Lawless at Billings, Montana. Helen formerly resided in New Caney, Texas. She married Richard B. Peek on February 23, 1951 at Lawrence, Kansas.
Helen worked as a nurse's aide at Colmery O'Neil VAMC, KNI, and the Topeka State Hospital. She was a member of the Rock and Mineral Society and the Moose. She was a silversmith and enjoyed jewelry making, wood carving and drawing.
Helen is survived by five children: Catherine Llamas (Phillip), John Peek (Nora), Pat Peek, Mike Peek (Jackie) and Chuck Peek; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Richard.
A celebration of her life will be held at Garfield North Shelter House from 11:00AM-3:00PM on April 30, 2016.
