Helen Pauline Thigpen, 81, of Topeka, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018.
She was born June 2, 1936, in Enid, Oklahoma, the daughter of Perry Alfred and Edna Mae (Rorabaugh) Rayls. She was a graduate of Salina Central High School, Salina, KS.
Helen was employed by KPL, Medical Arts Pharmacy and retired from Seaman School District in 1998.
Helen married Clifford Clayton Thigpen on June 30, 1977. He preceded her in death on October 6, 2005. Survivors include two sons, Rusty (Crystal) Addington, and Greg Addington; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Christie Hatch; two brothers, Don and Jim Rayls; her sister, Ruth Koci; and her canine companion, Chin Chin.
Helen enjoyed spending time with family, crocheting, cross stitching, playing Bingo and going to casinos.
A celebration of life gathering and reception will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka.
