Helen L. Walker, 83, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. She was born March 2, 1939 in Winston, Missouri, the daughter of Charles T. and Vinita M. (Reid) Creekmore.
Helen graduated from Richmond High School in Richmond, Missouri and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Psychology from Park University in Parkville, Missouri. She served as Assistant Director of Adult Education for Park University for over 20 years before retiring in 2003.
Helen married Richard J. Walker on October 26, 1957 in Miami, Oklahoma. He survives. Other survivors include children, Ellen Yvonne (Greg) Walker-Quirk of Kansas City, Missouri, Richard Thomas (Martha) Walker of Atchison, Kansas, four grandchildren, Andrew, Nicholas, Connor and Kyle, three great-grandchildren, James, Lily and Patrick and her siblings, Kent (Judy) Creekmore of Kansas City, Missouri, Charlita (John) Washburn of Grandview, Missouri and Serita (Jeff) Clauson of Liberty, Missouri.
A private Celebration of Helen's Life will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Heart of America Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 3846 W. 75th Street, Prairie Village, Kansas 66208.
Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
