Helene Gertrude Glaze passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 14, 1936 to William LeRoy and Helena Gertrude (Phelan) Glaze.
Helene was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Bill, Bob, Jack, Gorman and Dick.
She is survived by her brother, Ray and his wife Cicely. Other survivors include nephews, Ray, Jr. (Brenda) and Bob (Kathy); nieces, Caren, Cyndi, Kelly, Colleen and Cristin as well as 10 great-nieces and great-nephews and three great-great grandnieces and nephew.
Helene graduated from Patterson Park High School in 1954. She attended the University of Maryland for a year and a half. She kept house for mother and brothers, who were all seaman. Helene bred, raised and showed Great Danes for many years. She was the President of the Greater Baltimore Great Dane Club.
As per Helene wishes, cremation has taken place. A service will be held at a later date in Maryland. Dove Cremation and Funeral Service is assisting with arrangements.
