Henry J. Cooper, 85, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2009 at the VA Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. He was born on July 6, 1924 in Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Army Air Corps during WWII and retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service. He was later employed by the US Postal Service before retiring. Henry married Margaret J. Elliott in 1950. She survives. Other survivors include one son, James Cooper, grandson Troy Cooper, four additional grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Hope Cemetery where military honors will be provided by a burial detail from Whiteman Air Force Base, Knob Noster, MO. Henry will lie in state from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
