Howard W. Shufelberger

July 28, 1924 — December 21, 2015

Howard W. Shufelberger, 91, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center. He was born July 28, 1924 in Bucklin, KS, the son of Floyd and Grace (Cook) Shufelberger.

Howard graduated from Friends Bible Academy in Haviland, KS in 1942. Howard was an Army Veteran during WWII where he served in the Philippines and Okinawa. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business from the University of Wichita in 1950 and a Master's Degree in Education Administration from Oklahoma A&M in 1958.

Howard was employed as a business teacher for public schools for 32 years before retiring in 1984. Howard taught in Derby and South Haven, KS, prior to moving to Topeka in 2004.

He was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church and the Lion's Club.

Survivors include his brother, Duane C. (Joan) Shufelberger of Topeka, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at the Highland Park United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Highland Park United Methodist Church, 2914 SE Michigan Ave., Topeka, KS 66605.
