Hubert Duane Walters, 76, Topeka, pass away peacefully at Midland Hospice House on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005.
He was born July 3, 1928 in Perry, the son of Henry B. and Celia B. Wingfield Walters. He was raised by his mother and step-father, Harry A. Peterson.
Mr. Walters was a district mechanic for the Kansas Highway Department, now KDOT, for 34 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Tecumseh United Methodist Church.
He married Margaret Berridge on April 23, 1949 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include his son, Steven W. Walters, Topeka; two daughters, Theresa D. Blasingame, Pilot Point, TX and Vicki L. Walters, Topeka; a sister, Alice M. Valentine, Lee's Summit, MO; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Eugene Walters on May 4, 2002.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday at Newcomer Family Funeral Home. Interment will be in West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
