Ila Jean Pardee, 84, formerly of Mayetta, passed into her Savior's arms, surrounded by her loving family at the Brookside Retirement Center, Overbrook, KS on January 18, 2011.
Ila Jean Brunner was born on December 14, 1926 to Rudolph and Margaret Brunner in Oneida, KS. Jean was the second of 5 sisters. She graduated from Oneida High School in 1944. Jean married the love of her life, Robert Pardee Sr., on January 1, 1947 and they were blessed with 4 children. She was a marvelous cook whose meals were enjoyed by family and friends. Jean was a beautician in the Topeka area for many years before retiring to her Mayetta home to devote more time to her family.
Ila Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband Bob on December 18, 2010. Jean leaves behind 4 children and their spouses, Bob and Joyce Pardee Jr., Topeka, Tanya and John Williams, Auburn, Bill and Rose Pardee, Olathe, and Maggie and Steve Rader, Ottawa. She enjoyed 5 granddaughters; 12 great-grandchildren; and 4 sisters, June Winger, Augusta, KS, Vauncille Barrett, Fairview, KS, Jan Grubb, Fremont, NE, and Pat Nobis, Cincinnati, OH.
A memorial service will be held January 24, 2011 at 11am at Calvary Lutheran Church, 4211 NW Topeka Blvd. The family requests memorial contributions be made in lieu of flowers to Brookside Retirement Center, 700 W. 7th, Overbrook, KS 66254 or Grace Hospice, 3715 SW 29th Suite 100, Topeka, KS 66614.
