Irene A. Anno, 88, of Tecumseh, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at a Topeka care facility. She was born February 7, 1922 in Wichita, the daughter of Walter and Eva Wise Winsor.
She has lived in the Tecumseh community her entire life. Irene married Clyde Anno of Tecumseh where they enjoyed their life of farming together. He preceded her in death in May of 1994. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sallie.
Survivors include their children; Doris (Harold) Auten-Jeanneret, Delbert (Carol) Anno, Dorothy "DJ" (John) Conaway, 14 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Emmanuel Cemetery southeast of Topeka. Irene will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Heartland Hospice Care, 2231 SW Wanamaker Rd., Ste. 202, Topeka, KS 66614.
