Irene Gertrude Anstaett, 75, Berryton, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born Jan. 9, 1934 in Gibson City, IL, the daughter of James Sylvester and Gertrude Anna Stewart.
Irene worked for in nursing service at the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center in Topeka for 26 years before retiring.
She married Floyd E. Michaels in 1955 in Phoenix, AZ. To this union, four children remain: Mrs. Sheila Sommerfeld of Tecumseh, Thomas Michaels of Berryton, Mrs. Julie Rodriguez of Ozawkie, and Darren Michaels of Scranton; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Josephine Rambo of Decatur, IL. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Dove Funeral Home, 4020 SW 6th Ave, Topeka. Interment will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
