Jack Darrell Crispin, Tecumseh, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015, at the VA Hospital. Jack was born in Ava, Missouri, on September 24, 1926. He served during WWII in the US Army and the US Army Air Force. On June 24, 1949, he married Mary Elizabeth Stewart of Overbrook, KS. He graduated with a business degree from Washburn University in 1952. Jack was a long time employee of Whelan's Lumber Company in Topeka. He was an avid golfer and in his spare time loved gardening and woodworking.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, H. Gifford and Della C. (Christy) Collett, and his sister, Elizabeth A. Blevins. His survivors include wife, Mary, of the home, sons Jack Crispin, Jr. (Kathie) of Lincoln, KS, and Jerry Crispin (Cheryl) of Topeka, and daughters Jill Emme of Tecumseh and Julie Steinbock (late husband Jeff) of Olathe. He had seven grandchildren and six great grandsons.
Family will greet friends Friday, January 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave., Topeka. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Mount Hope Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St, Topeka. Internment services will be held at a later date.
