Jack H. Forbes, 94, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015. He was born June 6, 1920 in St. Joseph, MO, the son of Henry and Ethel Forbes.
Jack was an Army Veteran of WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. He had resided in Topeka since 1957. Jack was employed by Fleming Foods for over 20 years. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the V.F.W.
Jack married Leota "Maxine" Henman on July 19, 1940. She survives. Other survivors include his daughter-in-law, Carol Bourg of Topeka and his brother, Larry (Karen) Forbes of Oregon. Jack was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl A. Forbes on July 26, 2014. and brother, Jerry Forbes in 2010.
Cremation has taken place and as per Jack's wishes, no memorial services will be held. Private inurnment will take place in Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel is assisting the family.
