Jack "Ron" Reesor

Jack Ronald "Ron" Reesor, 77, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at his home. He was born on February 14, 1934 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas to Wray and Edna (Kellett) Reesor.
Ron graduated from West Plains High in West Plains, MO in 1952, where he was known as "Ramblin' Ronnie" on the football field. While attending Southwest Missouri State on a football scholarship, he joined the U.S. Air Force, where he was stationed in England and also continued to play football. After serving with the Air Force, he returned to Southwest Missouri State and joined the Bears football squad for two more years.
Ron was in the insurance industry for most of his career and retired in 1996 as a sales manager for American States Insurance Company. He was a member and past Deacon of First Christian Church. He was a member of the downtown Kiwanis Club. Ron was an avid golfer and enjoyed his many golf trips with his friends.
On December 23, 1960, he married Sandra Roy at National Avenue Christian Church in Springfield, Missouri. She survives. He is also survived by his sons, Greg Reesor of Madison, WI; Jeff (Cheri) Reesor of Topeka and Scott Reesor of Topeka and two grandsons, Sam and Nick Reesor.
A memorial ceremony will be at 11:00 am on Monday, November 14 at the First Christian Church. The family will greet friends from 10:00 am until service time. Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 1880 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka, KS 66604.
