Jacob David Ediger, 94, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
He was born May 19, 1930, in Henderson, Nebraska, the son of David and Helena (Heinrichs) Ediger.
Jake was self-employed for Ediger Construction Company for 55+ years.
Mr. Ediger was a member of the Topeka Homebuilders Association and was a founding member of the Mennonite Brethren Church in Topeka.
Jake married Esther Braun on August 5, 1951 in Henderson, NE. She preceded him in death on January 9, 2023.
Survivors include daughters, Elaine Fast (Doug), Judy Faul (Owen), Sharon Overton and Lynn Ediger, sons, Ron Ediger (Sally) and Ken Ediger, grandchildren, Katie Fast and Tina Smith (Luke), Nathan Faul (Abby) and Joe Faul (Kayda), Tina Belazeros (Ron), Jacob Ediger (Sarah) and Brandon Ediger (Emmy), 11 great grandchildren, sisters, Kathrine Rempel (Ed) and Rosella Epp, and brothers, Robert Ediger (Evelyn) and Virgil Ediger (Evelyn).
He was preceded in death by parents, wife, Esther, and brothers, Alvin Ediger and Walter Ediger (JoEtta), brother-in-law, Norman Epp and son-in-law, Tom Overton.
Jake enjoyed coffee at Hardee’s with “The Guys”, Bible studies, reading and anything outdoors.
Jake’s wishes were for cremation. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Cornerstone Community Church, 7620 SW 21st St, Topeka, KS 66615. Private interment of the cremated remains will be at West Lawn Memorial Gardens in Topeka.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care Hospice House, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606, to be used for a new extra-long hospital bed or to Cornerstone Community Church, 7620 SW 21st St, Topeka, KS 66615.
