James Allen Dozier, Sr., of Topeka, passed away on September 11, 2016 at Manor Care nursing home. He was born in Earlton, KS on September 2, 1935.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Darlene Dozier of the home, two sons James Allen, Jr. of Topeka and Jason Andrew (SueAnn) of Kansas City, his faithful dog Scruffy, and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.
Jim served 4 years in the army in Germany doing heavy equipment duties. When he returned from Germany, he pursued his next love and became a truck driver both locally and over the road. He was always looking forward to what was over the next hill. Because of health problems, he was forced to give up his job. He liked to paint and he never missed a Bob Ross painting program. He enjoyed watching the Royals and he and his dog Scruffy spent a lot of time in the recliner watching games. Jim loved life and always enjoyed seeing the beauty of the land that God had left here for us to enjoy. Jim touched many lives and he will be missed by all.
Services for Jim will be on September 17, 2016 at 1 PM at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, Topeka. The family will greet guests an hour before the service.
