James C. Bibler

James C. Bibler, 86, of Topeka, died Monday, August 1, 2022 at Stormont Vail Hospital.

He was born August 5, 1935 in Humboldt, KS to the parents of Harold Bibler and Margaret Hazel Stadel.

He graduated from Central High School in 1954 and took a few technical college courses.

James served in the United States Marine Core from 1954-1957 and the United States Coast Guard from 1960-1965.

James is preceded in death by his parents Harold Bibler and Margaret Hazel Stadel and his nephew Kenneth Richard Moore II.

He is survived by his sisters, Patricia J. Moore, of Edina, MN and Lisa (Rick) Behrens of Phoenix, AZ; niece, Kelli (Tim) Skoog; grand-nephew, Bradley James (Lexi) Skoog; grand-niece, Stephanie Skoog (Kyle) Wahlund, and their child, Jayce, all of Richfield, MN; nephews, Rich (Courtney) Behrens and their daughter Vivienne Harper of Los Angeles, CA and Blake (Alex) Behrens and their son Fitzgerald James of New York; grand-niece, Karen (Cameron) Philabaum and their children, Jiahs and Kira, of Williston, ND; grand-nephew, Lonnie Moore and his child, Selene, of Salem, Utah; plus many cousins and grand cousins.

James worked for what is now called Berry's Artic Ice from 1965-1997. After retiring he worked for Godfather's Pizza and Patti's Heartland Cafe. He enjoyed working and he loved animals, especially his cat that he had for many years.

James' hobby was carving and painting small wooden statues of various animals. He was very talented and artistic and captured the likeness of all the creatures he created, gifting them to family members at the various holidays. James was a simple, kind, creative, artistic, and introverted man with some neuro-diversity issues that he managed and navigated his whole life.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2022 at Valley Falls Cemetery in Valley Falls, KS.
