James Branch
James W. Branch, 70, of Topeka, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 27, 2005.
Jim was born August 25, 1935 in Marie, Arkansas, the son of James L. and Frances Pearl Perkins Branch. He grew up in the Shafter, California area and attended Shafter High School.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for 3 years as an aircraft mechanic.
Jim had been employed at Goodyear and later the State of Kansas, Department of Revenue as a printer for 16 years, retiring in 1995.
He married Saundra May Helm on October 19, 1958. She passed away April 13, 1977. He later married Mary K. Carlock on September 29, 1979. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters; Cynthia Branch, Colorado and Jamma L. Logan, Topeka; and a son, Bradley H. Branch, Topeka; 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; two brothers; Wilbert "Bill" Branch, Paragould, Arkansas and Ardith "Doc" Branch, Shafter, California; and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Sullivan, Oildale, California. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Beth Branch.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, September 30, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Branch will lie in state at Newcomer Family Funeral Home after noon until 5:00 P.M. on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care Inc., 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606 or Southwest Church of Christ, 3216 SW 29th, Topeka, Kansas 66614.
