James R. "Jim" Budden, 73, Berryton, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013.
Jim was born November 24, 1939 in Junction City, the son of Clifford and Almira Budden. He graduated from Manhattan High School in 1958 and served in the Army National Guard.
He was a union carpenter with local #1445 for 50 years, retiring in 2001.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, and an avid outdoorsman, participating in the Mid America Bass Club and Fishers of Men.
Jim married Ruth Elliott on June 18, 1961 in Salina. She survives. Other survivors include their children, Robert (Kimber) Budden, Ozawkie, Heather (Chuck) Smith, Topeka; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Glenda Doering.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 2, 2013 at Christ Lutheran Church, 3509 SW Burlingame Road, Topeka. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Family Life Center of the church.
The family suggests expression of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Topeka Rescue Mission or Midland Care.
