James "Jim" Innes, 67, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018.
He was born October 5, 1951, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of John and Virginia (Ricksecker) Innes. He graduated from Topeka West High School in 1969.
He spent a majority of his career as an electrical sales representative at Kriz-Davis and continued working for numerous years at ACE Hardware in North Topeka.
In his younger years he enjoyed motocross and he shared his enjoyment with his son through teaching and watching him race. He loved to play music, including jam sessions with his band, The Kitchen Crew. He enjoyed playing golf and caddying for his grandsons and spending time with grandchildren. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. He enjoyed watching KU Basketball and the Royals.
Survivors include a daughter, Paige (Marc) Alonzo and son, Brooks (Kara) Innes; grandchildren, Addison Alonzo, Myles Alonzo, Breece Alonzo, Camden Innes, and Claire Innes; brother, John (Jeanine) Innes and sisters, Debby (Dale) Walburn, Polly (Doug) McInroy; brother-in-law Chuck Colter and numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jean Ann Colter.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm., Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Dove Cremations & Funerals - Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care 200 SW Frazier Circle Topeka, KS 66606.
