James J. Lolli, 90, Topeka, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2009 at a local hospital.
Jim was born February 1, 1918 in Landisville, NJ, the son of Joseph and Adolpha Fiocchi Lolli. He graduated from Vineland New Jersey High School.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1941 to 1968, retiring with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He later worked as a Quality Control Inspector for the Department of Defense at Forbes Field for 15 years.
He was a member of the Amerita Club of Topeka, Elks #204, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 1, St. Matthew's Catholic Church and A.A.R.P.
Jim married Mary E. Reeves on February 23, 1946 in Exmore, VA. She died in 1986. He married Mary Patch on April 15, 1988 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include sons, Joe Lolli and wife, Linda, Berryton, James Lolli, Topeka; grandchildren, Ryan Lolli and wife Kelly, Fairway, Dacia Henshaw and husband Tom, Littleton, CO; great-grandchildren, Lena and Aubrey Henshaw, Olivia Lolli; and a niece Dawn Crescinzi and husband Ernie, Vineland, NJ.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2009 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Jim will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
