James L. "Jim" Kaad, 59, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 at home.
He was born August 13, 1954 in San Diego, CA, the son of James E. and Margaret A. (Locke) Kaad. He attended Jamestown and Topeka West High School.
Mr. Kaad most recently owned and operated the Sunflower Driving School in Topeka. He also worked for Koss Construction, Martin Tractor and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
Jim married Debra on November 13, 1976 in Topeka. She survives of the home. Other survivors include a son, James David "J.D." Kaad, Topeka.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Martin Kaad.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. Jim will lie in state at the funeral home after 3 p.m., Wednesday, where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. A graveside service will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 2, 2014 at the St. Luke's Cemetery, between Jamestown and Randall, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. BOX 758517. Topeka, KS 66675.
