James N. Mcmillen

James N. "Jim" McMillen, 66, of Tecumseh, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. He was born February 3, 1953 in Douglas County, Kansas the son of Donald F. and Lucille (Robertson) McMillen.

Jim graduated from Baldwin High School in 1971 and attended Baker University. He was employed by Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for 40 years before retiring. He was an active member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church where he was a member of the United Methodist Men's Group. He served as an usher for over 20 years, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Sponsor, served on the Board of Trustees, Head of Church Council. For years, he dedicated his time and energy towards planning the Men's Barbeque and Pancake Feed.

Jim married Pam A. Crady on March 11, 1972 in Douglas County at the Trinity Lutheran Church. She survives. Other survivors include their children; Jason McMillen of Topeka, Megan Nelson of Lawrence, Kansas, Hallie (Octavian) Msongamwanja of Tulsa, Oklahoma, one grandson; Jackson Nelson and his siblings; Alice Gurley of Baldwin, Kansas and Judy Wagner of Baldwin, Kansas.

Jim was preceded in death by an infant son.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Highland Park United Methodist Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Inurnment will follow in Vinland Cemetery, Vinland, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Highland Park United Methodist Church, 2914 SE Michigan Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66605.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family.
