James Micheal Winborn Jr., 70 was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. James was born November 14, 1942, in San Francisco, CA. to James E. Winborn and Mabel D. Rutledge Winborn.
James Micheal attended public school in Lawrence, Kansas. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1959, and worked for the Postal Service in Memphis Tennessee until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents James E. Winborn and Mabel D. Rutledge (Winborn), and one sister Carol Slaughter.
He is survived by his loving family: wife, Naomi Winborn of the home: siblings, Gloria Moore of Sacramento, CA, Deborah Winborn of Junction City, KS, and Janet Winborn of Sacramento, CA.; children, Roxanne Hobbs-Winborn of Topeka, KS., Tam O'Connell (Mike) of Chicago, IL, James M. Winborn (Armmie) of Lawrence, KS, Claude Winborn and Marlyn Winborn ; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Committal services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday on the Garden Chapel at Topeka Cemetery. Burial will follow. James Micheal will lie in state from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
