James H. "Jim" Perriman, 71, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022. He was born June 16, 1950 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the son of William and Irma (Morris) Perriman.
Jim graduated from Haven High School. He moved to Topeka in the late 1960's. He was an Air Force Veteran during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Canteen Vending, the Capital Distribution Company and the Perriman Retail Liquor Store. After the family liquor was sold, he owned and operated Perriman's Towing for several years. He attended the Highland Park United Methodist Church.
Jim married Elizabeth "Liz" Sloan on September 15, 1989 in Camdenton, Missouri. She survives. Other survivors include two step-children, Carla R. Sloan of Overland Park, Kansas, Richard "Rick" (Amber Schindlbeck) Sloan of Warsaw, Missouri, seven grandchildren, Jessica (Cory), Logan (Shelby), McKenea (Dalton), Scarlett Elizabeth June, Sage Iris, Carter and Kaylee Goodwin and seven great-grandchildren, Austyn, Garrett, Ella, Gavin, Royce, Asher and Nick, Jr., his siblings, Kathy (Dwight) Walker of Lewisville, Texas and Robert "Bob" (Nona) Perriman of Cheyenne, Oklahoma and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was loved by many.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, William in 2005, his mother, Irma in 2020 and his brother, Edward in 2021.
A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the Highland Park United Methodist Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Highland Park United Methodist Church, 2914 SE Michigan Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66605 or to the American Legion Post 400, 3029 NW US Hwy. 24, Topeka, Kansas 66618.
