James R. Evans

James "Jeep" R. Evans, 75, a Topeka resident since 1984, passed away July 10, 2011 at Colmery-O'Neil Veterans Medical Center. He was born December 27, 1935 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Andrew B. and Dollie (Burkett) Evans. He graduated from Grants High School in 1956. He proudly served in the Air Force. He was an avid Royals fan.

He is survived by 2 brothers, Raymond C. Evans (Charlyne), of Cortez, New Mexico, and Paul E. Evans (Bobbie), of Topeka, Kansas; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Colmery-O'Neil VAMC Building 6 on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 2:00 pm. An inurnment service will be held at Kansas Veterans Cemetery, 5181 Wildcat Creek Rd. Manhattan, Kansas on Monday July 25, 2011 at 2:00pm.
