James Thomas Burke

James Thomas Burke was born July 30, 1944 in Halstead, KS to Richard Forrest and Frances Mary Burke. He is the first of six children.

James grew to be an honorable and well liked man. He retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber plant of Topeka, KS in 2006 after 41 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed life and took pleasure in many activities. Among them, his favorites were golfing, cars and car shows, and traveling. He had an unbelievable wealth of knowledge and shared it with all that knew him.

James is preceded in death by his wife, Sandy Burke; parents, Forrest and Frances; and three siblings, Patricia Adams, Howard Burke, and Robert (Bob) Burke. Survivors include his sister, Mary Kathleen (Kathy) Cone of Wichita Falls, TX; brother, Richard (Ric) Burke of Lawrence, KS; his son, Tommy Burke; his daughter, Robin Burke; of Topeka, KS; his son, Chad Keith and his wife Raven of Topeka, KS; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration and remembrance of James' life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2nd at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the celebration. Cremation will follow the service.
