James W. Harpham, age 60, died November 7, 2012. James was born November
24, 1951 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Charles and Bethene (Wondercheck)
Harpham. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Mary. He
is survived by his mother, Bethene; a sister Vickie Carlson, Gettysburg,
PA,; a nephew Paul; and two nieces Liv, and Brit.
Jim retired from TARC in June of 2007. He was known for his outstanding
work ethics, and the quality of his work. Jim had a passion for art. He was well known for his ability to create unique and colorful drawings, using free-form colorful dots that when joined together brought life to a page.
Jim has been an active member of University United Methodist Church for
over 30 years. Being able to serve the Lord and be an active member of
his church was important to him.
In his free time, Jim loved searching second hand stores for vintage
record albums to expand his music collection. He loved electronics and
"gadgets", playing cards with friends, and was known to enjoy a good
joke. He was loved for his humor and ability to lift the spirits of
others through his laughter.
Friends and family will gather for a Celebration of Life Service at
University United Methodist Church at 1:00 pm, Monday, November 12, 2012.
