Jamie Michele West, 50, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.
She was born on August 22, 1967 in Topeka, KS to Terry Martin and Ivadell (Spangler) Martin. She graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1985.
Jamie married Marcus West on August 31, 1985 in Topeka, KS. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Marcus (Jennifer) West, and Michael West; grandchildren, Marcus "M.J." West, Jr., and Charlotte "Charlie" West; siblings, John (Sherry) Martin, Anne (Ron) Attebery, Greg (Bonny) Martin, and Merle (Betty) Martin; mother-in-law, Christel West; brother-in-law, Gary (Christie) West; and sister-in-law, Cindy Hernandez; as well as numerous other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Terry and Ivadell Martin; and her father-in-law, Gary West.
Jamie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed boating, her dogs, and the Raiders. She had a zest for life, and displayed determination until the very end. Jamie had an incredibly strong spirit, and was known to live by the words, "live laugh love."
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Avenue, Topeka. The family will receive friends during a visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donors choice.
