Jan Jennings, 60, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012 at her home, under the care of Midland Hospice. She was born September 16, 1952 in Norman, OK the daughter of Jerald L. and Nancy A. (Stucker) Jennings.
Jan was raised in Topeka and graduated from Topeka High School in 1969. She earned a degree in Communication Arts from Washburn University in 1984. Jan married Darryl L. Pokea at their home on September 18, 1999. Jan was a freelance artist, and she worked in a variety of mediums including oils, charcoal, pastels and pencil.
Jan is survived by her husband, Darryl; sisters, Catherine Hodge of Topeka, and Elizabeth J. Clemmensen of Leawood, KS; nieces and nephews, Charles Pineda-Warren, C.J. Pineda, Sierra Pineda, Emily Hackman and John Hackman. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Per her wishes, Jan was cremated. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
