Jane Irene Czyzewski

Jane Irene Czyzewski (Rodzik), 98, of Topeka, KS (formerly of Southbridge, MA) passed away September 30, 2017.
Jane was born on September 24, 1919 in North Grosvenordale, CT to Krystyna (Mosheij) and Ludwig Rodzik. She is survived by her daughter, Mare Czyzewski Rockefeller and husband, John Rockefeller of Topeka, KS; son, Rick Czyzewski and wife, Cathy of Melbourne, FL; sister, Victoria Czaja of North Brookfield, MA; five grandchildren, Cory and Shayne Czyzewski, Nick, Luke and Molly Rockefeller and three great-grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her parents Krystyna (Mosheij) and Ludwig Rodzik; her husband, Wallace Czyzewski; her sister, Hedwig "Harriet" (Rodzik) Salvadore; and brothers, Adolph and Edward Rodzik.
Jane married Wallace Czyzewski on January 24, 1948. The early years of their marriage were spent on the west coast. They returned to Southbridge, MA where they lived and raised their two children. In 2002 they moved to Topeka, KS.
She was a middle school cook at Wells Junior High School for many years. Her love of cooking carried into the home where many family memories are of the delicious meals she prepared. Jane was an avid fruit, vegetable and flower gardener. She was truly blessed with a green thumb. Jane loved to dance, and was considered to be a wonderful dancer from her high school days to later years in life. Her love of sunshine was well known and she could be found in the Presbyterian Manor courtyard basking in its warmth whenever possible.
Jane was actively involved with The Pulsudski Polish American Citizens' Club making meals and attending events. Her faith and prayer time were important parts of her life. She spent many hours saying the Rosary. Jane was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a kind, generous, and caring friend. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
A Catholic funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11:00am, Saint Joseph's Church, 296 Main St. North Brookfield, MA; burial service immediately following at Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Bell St. North Brookfield, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations, in Jane's honor, can be made to Midland Care Hospice House, 200 Frazier Cir. Topeka, KS 66606
