Janet Louise Hathaway-Campbell

Janet Louise Hathaway-Campbell, 79, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017, in Topeka, Kansas.

She was born January 26, 1938, in Harrisonville, Missouri to Everett "Ben" and Lula Beadman.

She battled a rare form of Leukemia for many years.

She is survived by her two sons Michael Hathaway and Patrick Hathaway Sr. and his wife Kelli, of Topeka, Kansas. She is also survived by her husband Galen Campbell of Dover, KS and his four children. Survivors also include her sisters Delores Smith of Topeka, and Deanna Walker of Beaumont, Texas. Her surviving grandchildren include Heather Cummings and her husband John, Ginger Hathaway, Patrick Hathaway Jr., Dallas Hathaway, and ten great-grandchildren all of Topeka, Kansas. She also had many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Janet was preceded in death by her sister Mary Francis Young, and brothers, Ben Beadman and James Beadman, and one granddaughter.

Janet worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for 36 years before retiring. She was an avid reader all of her life. She enjoyed collecting antiques and periodically attended auctions around the community. Another hobby was traveling, which included the dream of visiting Europe. This was accomplished a few years back when she visited Paris, France. She was an active member of her local Al-Anon group and Grace Episcopal Cathedral. Another goal of hers was to get her high school diploma. In 2009, she finished her required credits and walked across the stage, at her original high school, in Washington County, Kansas. Her favorite sport was college basketball and she loved her KU Jayhawks!

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 18th at Mount Hope Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission, Inc.
