Janet Faye Pfeiffer

October 13, 1936 — January 1, 2025

Janet Faye Pfeiffer, 88, of Topeka, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 1, 2025, surrounded by her family.

She was born to Claude and Iva (Parks) Doran on October 13, 1936, on a farm outside of Wilson, Kansas.

As a young girl she attended a one-room country school. In the 8th grade, her family moved to Wilson, Kansas. At the age of 13, she started working at a local Drug Store as a Soda Jerk and in high school taught piano. She was a cheerleader at Wilson High and was Homecoming Queen her Senior year, graduating in 1954. After high school, she was the first recipient of the Tuberculosis Scholarship for nurses training. She attended Asbury Nursing School in Salina. After a year and a half, she transferred to Stormont Vail School of Nursing in Topeka, Kansas graduating in 1958. She worked as an RN at Stormont Vail Labor and Delivery and cherished that every baby born was a child from God. After 41 ½ years she retired in 2000.

On April 14, 1956, she married Gerald D. Pfeiffer, her high school sweetheart in Wilson, Kansas, and they remained married 68 ½ years until Jesus called her to her heavenly home. They have two daughters, Cynthia Olmstead and Cheryl Morris.

Janet accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1975. She and her husband are members of the Fellowship Bible Church of Topeka where she served and was involved in numerous bible studies. Janet was also involved in the Women’s Christian Connection and volunteered at the Crisis Pregnancy Outreach. She attended Menninger Bible Study and graduated after completing the 4-year program. She was a 25 year breast cancer survivor.

Janet had a strong love for Jesus Christ, her family and friends and was a bright light and inspiration to us all. Her love for everyone illuminated from her vibrant smile as she enjoyed sharing the love and good news of Jesus Christ with anyone she met. She welcomed everyone into her joyful heart and always showed them unconditional love. Janet leaves a legacy of LOVE giving all the Glory to God.

Janet was the best wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a beautiful child of God. We love her dearly, miss her so much and she will live in our hearts forever. We look forward to our reunion with her in heaven.

Faithful to the end, her last words on this earth were “I see Him”.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald, daughters, Cynthia (Dan) Olmstead, Cheryl (Larry) Morris, grandchildren Julaine (Daron Chavez) Kenfield, Jennifer (Michael) Bowman, Jason Stafford, Melissa (Chris Mitchell) Morris, great grandchildren, Sabrina (Shane) Komenda, Madison Kenfield, Rhyan Chavez, Cody Stafford, great-great grandchildren, Cooper and Blake Komenda and a brother, Kenton Doran and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
