Janice Kay Standish, 78, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born February 16, 1938 in Glen Elder, Kansas, the daughter of Everett R. and Florine L. (Humes) Neff.
Janice graduated from Highland Park High School in 1956. She was employed as a School Secretary for U.S.D. 501 for 24 years before retiring. She was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church where she was active in the Wesley Choir for many years as well as the United Methodist Women's Quilters Club, Beta Sigma Phi and the National Campers & Hikers Club as well as being a past charter member of the Kan-Openers Camping Club.
Janice married Eldon L. Standish on June 8, 1958 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2008. She was also preceded in death by and her brother, Dr. James R. Neff.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara K. Standish Moe of Grantville, two grandchildren, Hilary Rose Moe of Indianapolis, Indiana, Ethan Myles Moe of Topeka and one great-grandson, Brody Myles Moe
.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Highland Park United Methodist Church. Private inurnment will take place in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
