Janis Audrey (Spooner) Teague, 90, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
She was born October 28, 1933, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Helen (Matson) Spooner. She was the oldest of seven children. She received a High School Diploma in 1951 from Storm Lake.
Janis was employed by the Manhattan Public Library for 10 years until retiring.
Mrs. Teague was a member of the RSVP, of Manhattan KS.
Janis married Rolyn Dudley Teague on June 3, 1951 in Storm Lake, Iowa. Rolyn Dudley Teague preceded her in death on March 3, 2015. Survivors include a Son, Michael D. Teague, Daughter, Marci J. (Teague) McDaniel, Son, Mark A. Teague, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Father, Floyd Spooner, Mother, Helen Spooner.
Janis enjoyed supporting the arts and through her active life style she danced, crafted, played and loved music. Janis traveled through out her life time including living in Germany with her military husband and children. Not only did she work in the library she also very much enjoyed reading!
Janis’s wishes were for cremation. Janis will be laid to rest with her husband at Kansas Veterans Cemetery @ Fort Riley in Manhattan, Kansas.
