Jean Lillian Clark, 86, Topeka, went to be with the Lord on December 27, 2011, surrounded by her loved ones.
Jean was born October 8, 1925 in Mountain Grove, MO, to Frank and Frieda (Gress) Kennedy.
Jean married George Clark on March 13, 1944 in Carson City, NV. He survives. Other survivors include son, Mike Clark, Cape Coral, FL; daughter, Dixie Clark, Topeka; step-daughter, Maureen Armstrong, Plymouth, MI; daughter-in-law, Linda Clark, Umatilla, FL; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Brown; and brother, Robert E. Kennedy.
Her life was always a busy one with serving family, friends and neighbors.
A majority of her life was spent in the town of Corning, north of Topeka. It was there where she was involved in various activities in town, school and church. She enjoyed helping others, teaching Sunday School, raising funds for school and the American Cancer Society, and going to her children's and grandchildren's sporting and musical events throughout the years. Her sweet smile and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her, and were privileged to call her Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma, Aunt and Friend.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Overbrook Bible Church. Burial will follow at the Valley Brook Cemetery in Overbrook. Jean will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota, after 2:00 p.m. on Friday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
