Jean L. Lane, 80,Topeka, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014.
Jean was born October 29, 1933, in Topeka, the daughter of Benjamin and Celene (Wright) Thompson. She was a graduate of Washburn University.
She was employed by the Menninger Foundation as a Registered Nurse and later with USD-501 as a Paraprofessional, retiring in 1999.
She was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church.
Jean married John E. Lane in January, 1957, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2001. Survivors include daughters, Ginger Hymon, Topeka, Cynthia (Freddie) Hayes, Stockbridge, GA; son, Harold "Eddie" (Mia) Lane, Rowlett, TX; 3 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew's Catholic Church.
