Jeffrey Edward Tilden, 58 of Topeka, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Midland Hospice House. He was born August 11, 1953, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of Richard and Elizabeth Allman Tilden. He moved to Birmingham, Alabama as a child where he graduated from Berry High School. He received his Bachelors of Arts degree from Auburn University in Alabama, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He moved to Orlando, Florida in 1993 to work for Disney Vacation Club. It was there that he met his wife, Cristen Moore. Jeff and Cristen were married March 18, 1995, at the First Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas. Jeff enjoyed reading, traveling, crossword puzzles, and working out. He was a member of Countryside United Methodist Church. He was employed as an Investment Executive for Core First Bank and Trust.
Survivors include his wife, Cristen, daughter, Cassidy, and son, Chase of the home; his mother, Elizabeth Tilden, Alpharetta, Georgia; and sister, Nancy (Ron) Campbell of Norcross, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Allen Tilden.
Memorial service will be held at 10am Saturday, January 14th at Penwell- Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. The family suggests expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to the "Tilden Family Fund" for the children's education sent in care of Core First Bank and Trust, 3701 SW Wanamaker Rd.
