Jennettia Burcham, 97, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at McCrite Plaza in Topeka, KS. She was born May 1, 1921 in Chaffee, MO. She was the second of five children born to Benjamin Emmett and Sophia (Hallie) Park Watkins. Her parents and siblings preceded her in death.
She married Lloyd Franklin Burcham in 1946. He passed away in 1985.
Jennettia spent most of her life working in retail sales in Park Hills, MO. She worked at Howell's, a women's dress shop, for more than 40 years until the store's closing. She then went to work for JC Penney in Leadington and Farmington, where she worked until her retirement in 2003 at age 82. She was a member of the Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church of Park Hills.
In 2004 she moved to Topeka, KS to be closer to her daughter, son-in-law and grandsons.
Jennettia is survived by her two daughters, Janet Jones (Elvis) of Florence, AL, and Pamela Koupal (Carl) of Topeka, KS and three grandsons; Matt Koupal (Katie), Topeka, KS; Kyle Koupal, Scottsdale, AZ; and Griffin Koupal, Washington, D.C. She is also survived by numerous beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at McCrite Plaza and Great Lakes Hospice for their loving care and support.
A private graveside service will be scheduled at a later date.
